Cull's Raisin Tea Buns

 

 

 

2 cups flour

4 tsp. baking powder

¼ cup white sugar

½ cup butter or margarine

1 egg

½ cup milk

raisins to suit

 

Mix flour, baking powder and sugar together.  Add raisins.

Crumble in butter – be sure to mix well by hand.

Add egg and stir.  Add milk – add milk slowly as you may not need all.

Knead into dough and roll into 1 inch thickness.

Cut into circle with cutter (about 2 inch radius).

Place side by side in a glass dish that has been well greased.

Bake in 350 degree oven for 20 minutes or until golden brown.

 

Yeilds about 18 buns.

 

Note:  I use an 8x11 glass dish but the recipe does not fill it completely.
